Carlos Manuel Rodriguez
Vice President for Conservation Policy, Conservation International, and former Minister of Environment and Energy, Costa Rica
Carlos Manuel Rodriguez is Vice President of the Global Policy Center for Conservation and Government at Conservation International, and formerly, Minister of the Environment and Energy of the Republic of Costa Rica. An environmental lawyer, politician, and devoted conservationist, Mr. Rodriguez established and participated in a number of pioneering projects in the environmental sector, such as tropical research institutes, NGOs, and played a central role in helping to achieve full protection status for 25% of Costa Rica’s marine environments. He is a graduate in Law of the University of Costa Rica and also holds a M.S. in Environmental Law from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
